It is always so exciting to open up my mailbox and receive a postcard or letter, thoughtfully written just for me. It’s a reminder of how great it is to have travel buddies and buddies who love to travel.
I’m going to start off my Postcard Monday series with a postcard from one of my favourite places in the world: The Galápagos Islands. As my traveling buddy reminded me, this is a picture of a sea lion, because it has “adorable ears” which seals do not. The stamp commemorates Lonesome George, who passed away in June 2012.
I find postcards incredibly romantic: a handwritten, tangible souvenir, that travels across the world between friends.
Do you send or love receiving postcards?

I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about the Galapagos Islands. Can’t wait to see what next Monday’s postcard brings!

I travelled to the Galapagos in June of 2012 and was fortunate enough to have been one of the last batches of people who got to see Lonesome George in person. Lonesome George, as well as all of the wildlife in the Galapagos, is truly special. Will you be writing about your experience in the Galapagos Islands as well?
